Progress to date

The first application, which includes Riverside Gardens, was approved (23/05402/FUL) in March 2023 and work is progressing on schedule.
While the gardens will differ from early CGI imagery due to rising construction costs and the complexity of the site, it remains a key part of the vision for a greener, more accessible riverside.

Work continues to progress on schedule, despite the engineering challenges on site. There is a high water table, complex ground conditions and historic structures, which meant that some investment had to be made below ground. However, this investment will bring long term stability and climate resilience to the area, whilst also improving health and wellbeing provision.

Application Two (24/04476/EIA) covers the outline scale and massing of buildings in the centre of the site, and was approved in April 2025.
